P.R.O.C.R.A.S.T.I.N.A.T.E. is my last name
I am a procrastinator.
And I'm not shy to say I'm one!!!
So 'tsk tsk' right?
I have recently grown to enjoy using it as an excuse to tell people why I've not been doing this, doing that. Not having the urge to learn to drive, not uploaded my honeymoon pics on facebook, not this, not that...
Haha...

The Hongsies Awards
Gnil would like to present the following Hongsies Awards to these recipients and thank them for their help... (in no order of merit)
MVP(Most Valued Player) Award goes to... (drumroll...)
Ms Tingfang
- for effortlessly multi-tasking through all operations - big or small -from dusk to dawn, and beyond... whilst not forgetting to taste the fishy sharksfin soup and enter a serious discussion with fellow guests on the ah bengness of the banquet manager... Kudos to her!
Most Meticulous Award goes to... (drumroll...)
Ms Delphine
- no amount of angpaos or jewellery items can get away from her eagle-glared eyes and fast-scribbling fingers... from difficult names of senders like Zim Po & Zhek Gong - she SPELLED them all, complete with detailed description of the sender, like which side of the groom&bride's families, and if it was accompanied with jewellery, eg, cupid box in pink bag... kowtow kowtow..
Surprisingly Diligent Award goes to... (drumroll...)
Ms Meiling
- she surprised us with her ultra enthusiasm to be PA to the bride.. from cleanin the feet, puttin the shoe, to touchin up of makeup, giapping the hair to make it straight, ensuring angpao boxes are kept safely etc... WITHOUT the slightest grumble or sulk... wow...
Youngest Contributor Awards goes to... (drumroll...)
Shermeen & Shernice
- these 2 flowergals nearly stole the bride's show away cos they were way too cute!!! (luckily the bride's cuter.. haha) They were so sharp-eyed that as soon as the bride moved the slightest inch, they will fly over to help her with the irritating gown train... They saved the bride's day, really...
Most Pia 拼 Award goes to... (drumroll...)
Photographer Paul Goh
- he laid on dirty grounds, stood on unbalanced chairs, cheered sulken-looking ah peks and ah mms with so much diplomacy, caught attention of bored babies... all on empty stomachs.. and was still cheerful and friendly by the end of the nite! Doesnt he deserve an award?

what a bRAT!
Vanity and Its Signs
1) You start receiving strange smses from him, like, "hey, there's a sale at the atrium. help me check out if got good stuff leh.. be my 'fashion consultant' lah..."
2) He looks at himself in the mirror from the corner of his eye, when he thinks you are not looking.
3) He starts following you, without a grumble, on your beauty products shopping and starts observing things sold at the men's section. And he sometimes lingers there suspiciously.
4) He starts asking you what you do on your daily beauty regime and sneakily leads you on to say what you think men should do.
5) He even starts asking you specific questions like, "how can facial pores be minimised?" And leads on to ask about famous beauty product brands for men.
6) He starts to religiously apply mosturizer on his face, even more religious than you are with your regime.
7) He starts to fancy expensive clothes that he knows look good on him, even though he can be quite a miser previously.
8) He buys sunblock on his own, without your initiative!
Who says men arent vain? My man is, or at least, becoming one!

A Wedding Affair
Our assigned timing was 10.30am & we arrived early, then waited at reception until about 10.45am before this lady came to pick us. It was interesting to see other couples, of various ages, races and wearing different outfits (We were surprised as we were told specifically to wear formal, as if to attend a wedding).
Being the last couple in our batch (and the oldest too! haha!), our turn will only be around 12.30pm. So Nayr & I asked for permission to leave and come back exactly at 12.30pm as we had errands to run. And luckily we did that, or it will be silly waitin there and doin nothin...
It was overall, a fun experience! There were three parts in total, interviews and poses, with video recording. And it was nice that Nayr got to meet his mediacorp friends too. =)
The waiting part was quite unbearable though. Nayr calls it the 耐力比赛. The whole thing ended only at 4.30pm! Luckily, both of us were chit-chatting, people-watchin and entertaining ourselves all the while... We saw some couples got quite irritated and grouchy..
anyway, heard fr KF that situatuion improved on Sunday. Good that they improved on the flow.
Hmmm, wonder when will results be out?

Best Ayam Penyet (so far) in Singapore – Don’t Pray Pray!
It started with Nayr getting introduced to it by his colleagues at lunch.
When Nayr and I went to Bintan in Aug last year, he got me to try it. I finally understood how he could fall in love with the spicy concoction, for someone who does not really fancy chilli!
We soon embarked on our search for the best ayam penyet in
We went one day to look for the Sri Bistari stall at Beach Road Hawker Centre, opposite Golden Mile Complex. To our disappointment, it was the shop’s day off, so it was closed! By that time, both of us were super hungry and were bent on wanting nothing else but ayam penyet for dinner. There are plenty of other stalls selling ayam penyet, so we tried this stall at B1-26. It was simply called "Nasi Ayam Penyet Stall".
To our pleasant surprise, the ayam penyet from the stall was simply delicious! Somehow, the chilli was not too spicy and just right for our tastebuds. The chicken’s fresh and crispy and there was a variety of sides to go along with the hot, fragrant rice. (there were keropok pieces, fried peanut sticks, cucumber & tomato slices and a bowl of chicken soup).
When we returned the next time and tried the Sri Bistari stall, the ayam penyet there somehow do not taste as nice as the one at B1-26. We found the chilli sambal too spicy for us and there was not much variety of sides. The serving was also not as generous as the other stall’s.
So, the verdict goes:
The Best Ayam Penyet in
(clap clap clap)
Our verdict was confirmed - we tried the B1-26 stall again the third time we were there)
P.S. Ayam Penyet is a chicken dish from
It consists of a big slab of hammered flat chicken thigh, deep-fried to a lovely crispiness and served with spicy sambal chilli on a wooden plate. There are sometimes other side items to go along with it.

A *Shining* and *Dazzling* 2007!
..aiya, have been so busy leh.. esp with the big day coming..
anyway, the start to 2008 have been fabulous so far, and i'm sure it will be even better as the year goes on. =)
Hmm, come to think about it, the last qtr of 2007 has been quite *shining* and *dazzling*...
shall name a few shiny stuff here...
1. Movie "Stardust" - the way the female lead *shines* in the movie, somehow reminds me of carebears shine... =) such a sweet show!
2. My *dazzling* 四点金 =) - Thanks to ryan-mummy for splurging despite far far exceeding her budget! Shhh.. cannot tell ryan-daddy! haha!
3. My teeth - uh, they didnt exactly shine but i thought they were whiter after that gruelling, super-duper shocking and sensationally painful session at NTUC denticare BS.. (still wondering if it was worth all that pain..) ouch!
4. My diamond-peeled face. =) all that hours spent bi-monthly at the merciness of a facial beautician who speaks with a Malaysian-accent. (By the way, I was coerced into upgradin my already four-digit worth package with a US Eye Facial recently! Sigh.. all those $$ spent!)
5. Beads of shiny perspiration - tried to jog more now for a healthier me!
(my resolution for 2008 will be to jog more, maintain discipline to pop my supplements regularly and to ALWAYS put on my retainers! Oops, that's three resolutions!)
Cheers to 2008!
